Past concerts:
Spring 2024: Roots and Wings: Celebrating Our Musical Heritage
We were thrilled to present our Spring 2024 concert series, “Roots and Wings: Celebrating Our Musical Heritage.”
Featuring beloved folk songs (“Down to the River to Pray,” “Black is the Color of My True Love’s Hair”), classics from celebrated composers (Aaron Copland, John Rutter), and music rooted in the Sacred Harp tradition (“Wondrous Love”), our Spring 2024 program was a journey through the sounds and stories that have indelibly shaped American choral music.
Fall 2023: Come Gather ‘Round the Fire
Touch of Class performed three concerts in December 2023 featuring holiday favorites and choral classics that celebrate the spirit of the season. Music included John Rutter’s “Angel’s Carol and “Christmas Lullaby”; “Go Tell It On the Mountain”; “O Holy Night”; and Tomas Luis de Victoria’s “O Magnum Mysterium.”
Spring 2023: I Am in Need of Music
Touch of Class commemmorated its 50th anniversary with “I Am in Need of Music,” a program featuring songs that celebrate what a gift music can be. Some of the songs, including “How Can I Keep from Singing” (arr. Alice Parker), “Why We Sing” (Greg Gilpin), and “Shenandoah” (arr. James Ebb), were chosen by longtime choir members as their favorites from years past.
