I was born and raised in Paso Robles, CA on a cattle and grain ranch. I saw my first musical stage production, "The Desert Song" in 1964, and ever since, music has been a part of my life. For 40 years, I was involved in musical theater in my little home town, while attending Alan Hancock College as a theater major, and in San Luis Obispo.
I sang my first duet (well, not really a duet, but there were only two of us singing) in kindergarten - "Silent Night" for the Christmas Pageant. In first grade I performed my first solo, again a Christmas Pageant, 3 verses of "Up on the Housetop". In third grade I joined my church choir and sang with them through high school, then came back to sing with them for holidays from school and was still guest soloing in 2005.
I worked with a vocal coach in San Francisco for a couple of years but as happens with many people, life got in the way and I "lost my voice" for many years.
A recent move to Vancouver, WA with my wonderful husband John led me to Touch of Class Chorale, where I have simultaneously found my voice and good friends. Being part of this talented and giving group feeds my soul and I am honored to serve as Music Chairperson.
